Rotation that actually sticks

Every PDF viewer has a rotate button, and almost none of them save the rotation. Close the file and reopen it and the page is sideways again, and it is still sideways for whoever you email it to. The tool above writes the rotation into the page itself, so the document opens the right way up in every viewer, on every device, and prints correctly.

Why pages end up sideways

• Sheet-fed scanners often scan landscape documents rotated 90 degrees.
• Phone scanning apps guess orientation from the camera and sometimes guess wrong.
• Fax and multifunction printers store pages in a fixed orientation regardless of content.
• Landscape tables or drawings are inserted into portrait reports without rotation metadata.
• Documents exported from software that ignores the paper orientation setting.

Choosing the angle

The rotation is applied to every page of each PDF you drop in. If only some pages are wrong, split those pages out first, rotate them, then merge them back in the right order. All three tools are here and none of them upload anything.

What is and is not changed

Rotation is stored as a page attribute, so the page content itself is not re-rendered. Text remains selectable and searchable, images keep their original quality, and the file size barely changes. This is different from the compressor, which flattens pages to images. Because the content is untouched, rotating is completely lossless and can be undone by rotating back.

Batch rotation

A stack of scans from the same machine tends to be wrong in the same way. Drop the whole batch, pick the angle once and every file is corrected in one pass, then download them together as a ZIP.
