How to extract or delete columns

Keeping only the columns you need
Exports include everything. A customer export from a shop platform can have sixty columns when the mailing tool needs two: name and email. A product feed has internal cost prices that must not go to a marketplace. A report has identifiers, timestamps and flags that only confuse the person you are sending it to. Removing columns is also the simplest way to strip sensitive data before sharing: drop the phone number and address columns and what remains is safe to send.
Keep or delete
Type the columns you want, separated by commas, either by header name or by position (1 for the first column). Then choose whether that list is the columns to keep or the columns to delete. Keep mode also lets you reorder: columns are written in the order you list them, so "email, name" produces email first even if name came first in the source.

Header names are matched ignoring case and surrounding spaces. A name that is not found is reported rather than silently ignored.
Excel and CSV input
Drop a CSV or an Excel workbook; for workbooks the first sheet is used. The output is always CSV, which every spreadsheet and import tool opens. If you need an Excel file back, run the result through the CSV to Excel tool.
Sharing data safely
Deleting columns is a genuine removal: the values are not hidden, they are gone from the output file. That makes it a reliable way to prepare a file for someone who should not see certain fields. Combined with the fact that the file never leaves your browser, it is a safe way to handle customer lists, HR exports and financial data.
